Engineer wins assembly elections for 23 years running

Mr George Asiamah, a 57-year-old Civil Engineer, has won all district assembly elections at Kwahu Praso Electoral Area in the Kwahu South District for the past 23 years.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview on why the people had reposed confidence in him for the past two decades, Mr Asiamah said he always got in touch with the people and informed them about the policies, programmes and deliberations of the assembly.

He also lobbied for development projects to enhance living conditions in the electoral area.

Mr Asiamah said he contributed towards the extension of electricity from the Akwasiho junction to Kwahu-Praso and facilitated the construction and tarring of the 10- kilometre Fodoa junction road to Kwahu-Praso.

The assembly member has contributed towards the construction of four bore-holes for the community, the provision of a nine- unit classroom block and offices and store for the two basic schools in the electoral area as well as Information Communication and Technology centre.
