AFAG to stage demonstration on Wednesday

The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) says it will stage a demonstration in Accra on Wednesday against the rising cost of living.

It said in a statement in Accra that the demonstration dubbed “Ahokyere” is being held together with its “allies”, Generational Youth Movement (GYM), Progressive Nationalist Forum (PNF), and labour unions.

“The demonstration, which is aimed at protesting against the economic hardships that Ghanaians are going through and the recent fuel price rise, will start at exactly 0600 at the Obra Spot, Nkrumah Circle, Accra, and end at the Hearts Park, near the Cultural centre.

It said AFAG had completed all the necessary formalities with the police and was hoping to have a peaceful demonstration.

“We hereby caution all protestors not to wear the colours of any political party during the activity.”

AFAG wished all those coming from outside Accra a safe journey.

It urged all protestors to exercise the maximum patience during the march.
