GNAT Task Force completes mapping of teachers onto Single Spine

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), on Tuesday, said the mapping of Ghana Education Service (GES) employees onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) had been completed.

“The mapping forms the final stage on the way to the successful implementation of the SSSS in the GES,” it added.

A statement signed by Mr Peter Tetteh Korda, Public Relations Officer of GNAT said checks at the GES offices indicated that the report had been forwarded to the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) for onward submission to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP) for authorisation and directive to the Controller and Accountant-General Department (CAGD) to effect payment.

It appealed to the members to continue to exhibit a high sense of maturity as the institutions involved go through the process of ensuring that all GES employees were rolled onto the SSSS.

The statement recalled that GNAT set up a Task Force (Technical Group) early this year, which assisted the GES and a Consultant to undertake the mapping, which had completed and submitted its report to the GES Management last Saturday, January 15.
