President Mills relieves 13 M/DCEs of their posts

President John Evans Atta Mills on Thursday relieved 13 Municipal and District Chief Executives of their posts with immediate effect.

A statement issued from the Office of the President signed by Mr J.K. Bebaako-Mensah, Secretary to the President, said five of them were from the Eastern Region, four from the Ashanti Region and two each from the Central and Brong Ahafo Regions.

It said those from the Ashanti Region were Mr Kwadwo Addae, Sekyere East DCE, Mr Victor Amponsah, Offinso South MCE, Mr Jacob Kofi Dankwah, Sekyere Afram Plains DCE and Mr Mohammed Boakye Agyemang, Ejisu-Juaben MCE.

Those from Central Region were, Mr Felix Obeng-Forson, Agona West MCE and Mr John Oremus Arko, Agona East MCE.

In the Brong-Ahafo Region those relieved of their posts were, Mr Fleance Danso, Asunafo South DCE and Mr Dominic Yaw Owusu-Amoako, Tano North DCE.

The five from the Eastern Region were, Mr Napolean Amoako Asiamah, Birim North DCE, Mr G. Osei Bonsu Twum, Akuapem South DCE, Mr Seth Otchere, West Akim MCE, Mr Charles Evans Apraku, Kwahu North DCE and Mr George Agyemang Dua, Kwaebibirem DCE.

The statement said, “Until new Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives are appointed, the respective Regional Ministers are to oversee the administration of the affected areas.”
