Hearts part ways with coach Fabian

After a poor start to the Premier League season, Accra Hearts of Oak have elected to part company with Coach Paa Kwesi Fabian by mutual agreement.

The GNA Sports can confirm that assistant Coach Tanko Mohammed will take over the running of the team until a substantive coach is named.

The troubled Phobians have dropped to the lower ranks on the log and Fabian’s competence and capabilities have been questioned after the Club lost to Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra, last Sunday for the “Pride of the North’ to record back-to-back victories over the Phobians this season.

Ashford Tettey-Oku, Administrative Manager of Hearts confirmed to the GNA Sports that the Club met with the Coach and both parties agreed to end the less than one year relationship on mutual grounds.

“Coach Tanko Shaibu will be assisted by Anthony Allotey and Abubakari Damba and the three will be in charge till a substantive coach is appointed.”

Hearts suffered a humiliating 0-1 loss to RTU at home in their Week 16 fixture breaking a 32-year record between the two Clubs.

The shocking defeat, which sent the Phobians into a state of mourning, is their fifth in Accra. They have endured a torrid season losing seven times, drawing four and winning only five times to amass a sorry 19 points in a possible 48 in 16 outings.

Fabian, a nutritionist took over from Coach Abubakar Yussif weeks before the season commenced.

Hearts walk a tight rope when they hit the road to Berekum as guest of Arsenals at the Golden City Park on Sunday.
