Court fines driver GH¢72 for reckless driving

A Takoradi circuit court on Friday sentenced Isaac Sey, a driver, to a fine of GH¢72.00 for reckless driving and causing harm.

In default he would serve three months in prison with hard labour.

Sergeant Bernard Annor told the court presided over by Mr. Kwasi Boakye that on October 30, last year, at about 13:30hours, the convict was driving a Benz car from Benso to Kojokrom with the complainant, Ransford Ampong, a labourer on board.

He said the convict then lost control of the vehicle and got involved in an accident, thereby injuring Ransford Ampong.

The prosecution said a report was made to the police and the convict was arraigned before the court.

That is cheap and I bet you this driver will do it again, this will not happen in Canada because drivng is a previlage not a right. This driver will have been fine and have his licence demerit point reduce. because every able body driver in Canada have 6 demerit point and even if you loose one your insurance goes up and will affect your driving record as well. That is drivers are killing people in Ghana without regard.
