PNC forms Interim Management Committee

The Peoples National Convention (PNC) has set Thursday, December 30 to inaugurate an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to manage the affairs of the party until the next National Congress.

A statement signed by the IMC Chairman who also presides over the Council of Elders, Mr Basili Wasai explained that the formation of the IMC was to address a serious flaw and a constitutionally defective elections held in 2007.

The statement said Mr Wasai, a founding member of the PNC and a seasoned diplomat would also serve as Leader of the party.

It said Malam Ahmed Agadi Jato is Deputy Chairperson of the IMC.

It said the IMC would hold the fort and organise a National Congress to elect national officers and put in place institutions which would meet the requirements of the constitution of the PNC in the management of the affairs of the party.
