NDC is pursuing an all inclusive agenda – Regional Secretary

Mr. Eric Dakurah, the Upper West Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said as social democrats, the government had adopted an all inclusive attitude in governance because it was sensitive to the plight of the vulnerable in society.

In line with its policies, he said, the government introduced more modules of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) to provide jobs for the youth and created an exit plan for them.

Mr. Dakurah said this in a statement in reaction to certain comments made by the former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama when he met members of his party at Wa recently.

The former Vice-President alleged at the meeting that employees of NYEP who were perceived to be sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party were dismissed with explanation that they were on contract.

He also enumerated some development projects the NPP executed in the Wa Municipality and observed that they contributed to raising the living standards of the residents of the town.

Mr. Dakurah said employees of the Programme signed contracts for two years and had to leave on the expiration of their contracts.

“No NPP sympathizers of NYEP have been sacked. We challenge the former Vice President to substantiate his claim with the list of those who were sacked in any of the regions”.

He called on him to provide Ghanaians statistics of structures the NPP had provided in the region saying the NDC within its 24 months in government had initiated projects that outnumber project executed by the NPP its eight years rule.
