EC yet to receive ballot papers for eight District Assemblies
The Eastern Region is yet to receive the ballot papers for eight district assemblies and ballot papers for the unit committee elections as at mid-day on Tuesday, the Eastern Regional Electoral Officer, Mr Paul Boateng, told the GNA on Tuesday.
The district assembly and the unit committee elections in the region was scheduled for December 28, 2010 but had to be rescheduled for Thursday December 30, 2010 as a result of the delay in the delivery of the ballot papers.
Mr Boateng could not say the districts whose ballot papers were yet to arrive.
He said a vehicle had whoever been dispatched to Accra to collect more of the ballot papers and expressed the hope that the vehicle might bring back the remaining ballot papers for the elections to be conducted on December 30.
