Teachers urged to be patient over Single Spine Salary Scheme

The District Chief Executive for Gomoa East, Mr Isaac Kingsley Ahunu Armah, has appealed to teachers to exercise restraint because efforts were being made to hook the to the Single Spine Salary Structure.

He said this at the maiden speech and prize-giving Day of Afransi District Sssembly Junior High School at Gomoa Afransi.

He said the issue was now with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and it was the duty of the government to respect the mandate given the Commission before implementing the SSSS.

Mr Armah therefore urged all teacher organizations to channel their grievances through the negotiations instead of resorting to strike action.

He said the District Assembly has built 11 classroom blocks and has also supplied exercise books and school uniforms to some deprived schools in the district.

The District Director of education, Mr Francis Obeng Ampadu, appealed to patents to lay strong foundation for their wards education.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Philip Arhin, thanked the chiefs and elders of Afransi for their efforts at reducing the spate of teenage pregnancy in the area.
