Research into traditional medicine for HIV/AIDS cure – Dr Normeshie

Dr Anthony Normeshie, Executive Director of Health For All Herbal Clinic, at Oworam, near Asamankese, in the Eastern Region, has called on the government to strengthen research institutions in the country to focus attention on research into traditional medicine for HIV/AIDS cure.

Dr Normeshie, who is also the immediate past President of Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (GHAFTRAM), and a member of the Ghana AIDS Commission, made the call at a HIV/AIDS Peer Educators Training workshop at Oworam on Monday.

The workshop was organized by Integrated National Product Protection and Health Services (INAPROHS), a non-governmental organization, in collaboration with the Asamankese Municipal Health Management Team and the Municipal Assembly.

Dr Normeshie said; “basic research clearly indicated that there are antiviral plant types in Ghana, which inhibit the replication of several viruses.”

He stated that studies done at the Health For All Herbal Clinic on the use of a product coded “DNT 1 and 2 vitamins” showed that “viral load in patients significantly reduces and also Cp4 court, increased after a patient is monitored for four years.”

He assured Ghanaians that the cure for AIDS lies in “Jehovah pharmacy” that is the plant Kingdom and therefore asked government to accept traditional medicine in treating HIV carriers.
