Xtra-Gold Mining Limited provides boreholes at Pameng and Akropong

Mr Victor Nkansah, Director of Xtra- Gold Mining Limited, has reiterated the commitment of the company to ensure that communities in its area of operations live dignified lives.

He said the company would help provide the necessary social amenities such as boreholes, places of convenience and markets among others to the communities.

Mr Nkansah said this when he inaugurated four boreholes estimated at GH¢32,000 at Akyem Pameng and Akyem Akropong in the Atiwa District.

He said the company’s operations would disturb water bodies, which are the sources of drinking water for the people and for that matter management deemed it proper to provide the boreholes.

Barima Okoree Brasiam, the Chief of Akyem Pameng, thanked the company and appealed to it to consider providing additional boreholes to cater for the large number of migrant workers who would come to the area.

He said operation of the company would prevent the activities of illegal miners who were degrading the environment.

Barima Brasiam appealed to the company to employ the youth in the area to help reduce unemployment in the area.
