Bank of Ghana meets to review economy, interest rate

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Ghana will hold its 42nd regular meeting Monday December 6, 2010, a press release issued by the Bank has said.

The meeting, according to the release is to review developments in the economy and end with a decision on the appropriate positioning of the Bank’s policy rate – that is the basic interest charged on lending by the banks.

The Bank will announce the policy rate Friday December 10, 2010.

At its last meeting in September, the Bank maintained the policy rate at 13.5%.
