Ghana stocks up on five equities’ gains

The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, rose 130.53 points to close at 6,864.69 points from 6,734.16 points.

The gain brings the year to date change to 23.19 per cent.

There were six price changes – five gainers and a loser. Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL) gained GH¢0.02 to GH¢5.38 on 600 shares traded, SG-SSB Limited (SG-SSB) edged up GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.68 on 900 shares traded and Golden Star Resources was up GH¢0.02 to GH¢5.93 on 100 shares traded.

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated advanced GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.15 on 19,000 shares and Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) gained GH¢0.05 to 3.05 on 2,600 shares.

Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) was lower by GH¢0.01 to GH¢1.90 on 10,100 shares traded.

Total volumes were twice lower at 84,009 shares, valued at GH¢65,633.62 compared to 180,300 shares worth GH¢173,462 at the previous close.

Market capitalisation closed the session up at GH¢19,908.55 million from GH¢19,790.85 million.
