Phone app to reward drivers who do not use mobile phones while driving

A new mobile phone application software has been developed to monitor and reward drivers who do not use their mobiles whiles driving.

The application, dubbed Safecellapp, was developed by UK-based W2W and is currently on Apple’s iPhones and phones using Google’s Android system.

Safecellapp is designed to detect when the phone is moving faster than five miles per hour, and it figures out where the phone is and looks up its database of local safe driving laws.

If the user abides by those laws, by not talking on the phone without a hands-free device, the application issues points worth $1 for every 100 miles travelled.

Conversely, users lose points for infractions, such as making or receiving calls, and sending a text message whiles driving.

The points can then be redeemed at such approved retail points.

But Safecellapp can’t tell if the phone’s owner is a passenger or a driver.

That means a passenger could gain points by using the application, but will also lose points if he or she answers the phone in a moving vehicle.

W2W says the application can be a good tool for teenage drivers and for companies that want to keep their employees safe while driving on business.

It also helps to cut down on motor accidents and thousands of deaths caused by drivers on phone whiles driving.

This should just become a law rather then an app. All phones should have this feature and it should fine them if they’re the one driving and calling/texting.
