Ghana stocks open week on positive note

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the main market indicator, went up 16.81 points to close at 6,810.67 points, up from 6,793.86 points, during Monday’s trading.

The Change Year to date is 22.22 per cent.

On the broader market, there were five price changes, three positives and two negatives.

Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited (SCB) led the gainers with a share price increase of GH¢0.78 to close at GH¢44.00; Total Petroleum Ghana Limited (TOTAL) was up GH¢0.17 to close at GH¢9.00 and Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) appreciated by GHc0.01 to close at GH¢1.87.

Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) and Produce Buying Company Limited (PBC) lost GHc0.01 each to close at GH¢2.97 and GH¢0.16 respectively.

Traded volume closed the session at 147,723 shares valued at GH¢407,960.43.

Of the 14 equities that sold shares, SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC) led the pack with 73,600 of its shares valued at GH¢27,968.00.

Market Capitalisation closed the session at GH¢18,693.74 million from GH¢18,680.80 million.
