Ghana stocks sustain gains

The GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator, gained for the second straight session, rising 13.04 points to close 6,793.86 points from 6,780.82 points on Thursday.

The Change Year to date now stands at 21.92 per cent.

As many as eight equities saw price appreciation while two declined.

Golden Star Resources (GSR) gained GH¢0.18 to GH¢3.80, Enterprise Insurance Company (EIC) was up GH¢0.05 to GH¢1.65, Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) advanced GH¢0.03 to GH¢2.98 and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) rose GH¢0.01 to GH¢1.86.

Other gainers were Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) up GH¢0.02 to GH¢43.22, PZ Cussons made a rare gain with GH¢0.01 to GH¢1.11, Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL) and UT Bank each rose GH¢0.01 to close  at GH¢5.01 and GH¢0.26 respectively.

On the flip side, Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) was down GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.27 and SG-SSB Bank dipped GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.69.

Traded volume were about thrice lower at 125,700 shares, valued at GH¢145,033.00 compared to 372,685 shares valued at GH¢1,313,796.05 at Thursday’s close.

Market Capitalisation closed the session up at GH¢18,680.80 million up from GH¢18,625.12 million.
