Cocoa farmers in various communities at Mumuadu in the Fanteakwa District, are to receive free insecticide to spray their farms to boost production.
The Chief of Akim Osino and head of Mumuadu, Osabarima Osampanin II, told the Ghana News Agency on Saturday at Osino when he met the farmers.
He said a spraying team set up would visit the farms of the farmers for the exercise. He added that the selected farmers would soon be notified to get ready for exercise.
The Chief urged the youth of the area to be ready to take over the management of the farms from the older ones. He said such mindset was necessary because it would create jobs for them.
Osabarima Osampanin II appealed to financial institutions to assist young people who desire to go into farming with credit facilities.
