Ghana stocks dip

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the main market indicator, dropped substantially by 102.17 points from 6,650.56 points to 6,548.39 points during Monday’s trading on the Accra bourse.

The Change Year to Date was 17.52.

Traded volume closed the session at 1,228,913 shares valued at GH¢571,875.49. Cal Bank Limited (CAL) led the pack with 290,300 shares valued at GH¢86,914.00; followed by Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) with 65,100 shares valued at GH¢9,730.00 while Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) had 61,300 of its shares valued at GH¢113,405.00 changing hands. Shares of 14 other equities were sold.

On the broader market, there were nine price changes, five positives and four negatives. Golden Star Resources Limited (GSR) led the gainers with a share price increase of GH¢0.19 to close at GH¢3.60; AngloGold Ashanti Depository Shares went up by GH¢0.04 to close at GH¢0.42; SG-SSB Limited (SG-SSB) went up by GH¢0.03 to close at GH¢0.60 while CAL and Enterprise Insurance Company Limited (EIC) appreciated by GH¢0.01 each to close at GH¢0.30 and GH¢1.81, respectively.

ETI; HFC Bank (Ghana) Limited (HFC); Produce Buying Company Limited (PBC) and SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC) lost GH¢0.01 each to close at GH¢0.14; GH¢0.51; GH¢0.16 and GH¢0.36; in that order.

Market Capitalisation closed the session at GH¢18,428.22 million from 17.48 million issued shares.
