Ghana stocks begin week on brighter note

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the main market indicator, went up by 27.46 points from 6,427.77 points to 6,455.23 points during Monday’s trading on the Accra bourse.

The Change Year to Date was 15.84.

Traded volume closed the session at 166,134 shares valued at GH¢79,880.22. Of the 16 equities that sold shares, Mechanical Llyod Company Limited (MLC) led the pack with 80,000 of its shares valued at GH¢13,600.00.

On the broader market, there were eight price changes, five positives and three negatives. Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL) led the gainers with a share price increase of GH¢0.15 to close trading at GH¢4.00; HFC Bank (Ghana) Limited (HFC) went up by GH¢0.06 to close trading at GH¢0.52; Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) went up by GH¢0.05 to close trading at GH¢2.85 while Aluworks Limited (ALW) and Enterprise Insurance Company Limited (EIC) appreciated by GH¢0.01 each to close trading at GH¢0.34 and GH¢1.61, respectively.

Cal Bank Limited (CAL) lost GH¢0.02 to close trading at GH¢0.25 while SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC) and SG-SSB Limited (SG-SSG) depreciated by GH¢0.01 each to close trading at GH¢0.37 and GH¢0.56, respectively.

Market Capitalisation was GH¢18,305.77 million from 17.48 million issued shares.
