Ghana stocks rise for third time

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the main market indicator, on Wednesday went up substantially by 124.66 points to continue its gains this week.

The Index, which made marginal gains on Monday and Tuesday, therefore, closed Wednesday’s trading at 6,389.98 points from 6,265.32 points the previous session.

The Change Year to Date also rose to 14.67.

Traded volume also went up at 1,009,589 shares valued at GH¢679,161.20. Shares of 16 equities changed hands with Enterprise Insurance Company Limited (EIC) leading the pack with 293,900 shares valued at GH¢429,713.00 followed by Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) with 619,000 shares valued at GH¢86,658.00.

On the broader market, there were five price changes, all of which were positive. EIC led the gainers with a share price increase of GH¢0.19 to close trading at GH¢1.50; Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited (SCB) went up by GH¢0.05 to close trading at GH¢43.05 while ETI, Fan Milk Limited (FML) and Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) appreciated by GH¢0.01 each to close trading at GH¢0.14, GH¢8.01 and GH¢1.72 in that order.

Market Capitalisation now stands at 18,255.52 million from 18,147.38 million issued shares.
