Kufuor to speak on repeal of Criminal Lible Law

It has been nine years since the Criminal Libel Law was repealed from the law books of Ghana. The repeal of the law was seen as the step in the right direction to enhance freedom of expression and more especially press freedom. The law was repealed on July 27, 2001 and president Kufuor signed it into law in August of the same year.

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) is organizing a forum on Tuesday August 10, 2010 on the theme: Government – Media Relations and the guest speaker is former president John Agyekum Kufuor.

The forum is open selected members of the Ghanaian media community and the political parties.
