Kevin Prince Boateng for court over vehicles damage

Kevin Prince Boateng, the 23-year-old Ghana midlfielder is due to appear in a Berlin court Wednesday July 28, 2010 over charges relating to damage caused to 12 cars and a motor scooter in 2009.

Information from the international media available to ghanabusinessnews.com says Boateng and his Hertha Berlin teammate Patrick Ebert were accused of vandalizing the vehicles in March 2009.

According to reports one car was scratched and the wing mirrors were damaged on five other vehicles in the district of Wilmersdorf at about 3am on Tuesday March 17, 2009. Both deny the claims.

The incident was said to have occurred during the birthday celebrations of Hertha Berlin.

It is not yet clear if Boateng will put an appearance at the court. Meanwhile, Ebert has paid a fine of €56,000 which is over $72, 000 recently to settle the matter.

The German-born Boateng stood out as one of the outstanding midfielders at the South Africa 2010 World Cup.
