Ghana stocks begin week on brighter note

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) All-Share Index, the main market indicator, went up by 40.8 points from 6,246.91 points to 6,287.71 points during Monday’s trading on the Accra bourse.

The Change Year to Date was 12.84 points.

Traded volume was 569,620 shares valued at GH¢537,140.31. Of the 11 equities that sold shares, Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) led the pack with 258,100 shares valued at GH¢411,301.00 while SIC Insurance Company Limited (SIC) had 211,200 shares valued at GH¢82,343.00 sold.

On the broader market, there were five price changes, three positives and two negatives.

GCB led the gainers with a price increase of GH¢0.12 to close trading at GH¢1.60 while Fan Milk Ghana Limited (FML) and SIC appreciated by GH¢0.02 each to close trading at GH¢7.35 and GH¢0.39, respectively.

CAL Bank Limited (CAL) and Ecobank Ghana Limited (EBG) lost GH¢0.01 each to close trading at GH¢0.24 and GH¢2.97, respectively.

Market Capitalisation was GH¢18,201.79 million from 17.48 million issued shares.
