Government is spending more than GH¢400,000 towards the tarring of the two-kilometre road in Busunya, the capital of the Nkoranza North District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor, District Chief Executive told the Ghana News Agency at Busunya that the project would give Busunya a facelift to befit its status.

He said, government intends to construct permanent bridges over the three rivers in the area to guarantee the safety of drivers and passengers that ply the roads.

The project will cover the Tanfiano Bridge on the Nkoranza-Kintampo highway, Pienyina Bridge between Dromankese and Pienyina farming communities and the Kuuso Bridge which lies between Dromankese and Kuuso.

Mr Agyei-Dwomor said construction of the bridges would facilitate the easy movement of the people who are mainly farmers to transport their food stuff to marketing centres.

The classroom block, comprising a computer laboratory for the Busunya Senior High School would soon be completed.

He said the assembly had supplied about 41,000 exercise books to basic schools in the district.

The district assembly is working with the district directorate of health services to construct a hospital to meet the health demands of the people.

Mr Agyei-Dwomor expressed worry that all major cases in the six health facilities in the district are referred to the Nkoranza St, Theresa’s Hospital.
