The Central Region Development Commission (CEDECOM), would organise agro-processing and tourism fair in Cape Coast, from 30 August to 6 September, this year.

The fair that seeks to promote trade and investment and boost the economy of the Region is dubbed “Central Expo 2010” and under the theme: “harnessing the region’s potential for job creation”.

Mr Spencer Taylor, acting Executive Director of CEDECOM, who announced these at a press conference in Cape Coast on Wednesday, said that the fair would promote integrated and accelerated development and assist in poverty reduction in the districts.

He said that about 200 entrepreneurs from Ghana as well as outside the country would attend the fair, saying that the participants would have the opportunity to learn about new technologies, products and services.

Mr. Taylor said that it would promote strategic partnership and network among local and foreign businesses, financial institutions and development partners in the agro-processing and tourism sectors.

He said that attractive packages in the agro-processing and tourism sectors would be made available during the fair while investment forums would be held to educate participants on a wide range of issues in the sector.

Mr. Taylor said that the fair would help in identifying new customers, initiating business partnerships, networking with business leaders in Ghana and beyond as well as promote corporate image and also build awareness.

He expressed the hope that the fair would project the Region for investment in agro-processing and tourism.
