AMA takes measure to ensure law and order in Accra
The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), has initiated measures to ensure proper development and maintenance of law and order in the metropolis.
He said that the Assembly was committed to maintaining law and order, preventing outbreak of disease, lost of lives and property.
Mr Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Chief Executive of the AMA, disclosed this when he out-doored new uniforms for environmental health officers, who would be assisting in implementing the Fee-Based and Performance programme of the AMA.
He said that indiscipline was affecting sanitation, health, safety and development.
Mr Vanderpuije told the environmental health officers “You must live up to expectation and assist in implementing AMA policies and enforcing bye-laws on sanitation and the environment”.
Dr Simpson Anim Boateng, Director of AMA Public Health Department, said that the Assembly was constrained by inadequate personnel and logistics but said that the Assembly would intensify its education on sanitation.
