Ghana stocks begin week on downward trend

The GSE All-Share Index, the main market indicator,  opened the week’s trading on Monday by losing 2.44 points from 6,291.68 points down to close at 6,289.24 points.

The Change Year to Date also dropped by three points to 12.87 points on Monday as against 12.91 points recorded last Friday.

Traded volumes closed the session at 165,946 shares valued at GH¢68,761.89. State Insurance Company (SIC) led the pack, selling 67,600 shares valued at GH¢24,336.00, followed closely by Mechanical Llyod Company Limited (MLC), which traded 53,200 shares valued at GH¢8,499.00.

On the broader market there were three price changes, out of which two were positives and a negative. Golden Star Resources Limited (GSR) went up GH¢0.42 at GH¢3.30 while Benso Oil Palm Plantain (BOPP) gained GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.75.

UT Bank Limited (UTB) was the sole loser, going down marginally by GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢0.27.

Market Capitalisation was GH¢18,147.52 from 17.48 million issued shares.
