Ghana stocks fall heavily for the third time

The GSE All-Share Index has for the third time this week plummeted heavily from 6,413.78 points on Monday to 6,167.97 points on Wednesday, representing approximately 3.8 percent drop.

The Index, which slumped 111.05 points on Wednesday, therefore fell at 6,167.95 points from 6,279.00 points on Tuesday.

Of the six price changes recorded, four were negatives and two positive. Ecobank Ghana Limited went down by GH¢0.01 at GHc2.99, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated tumbled GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.13, SG-SSB Limited dropped GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.53 and AngloGold Ashanti Depository Shares slid GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.36.

The two gainers, Unilever Ghana Limited went up GH¢0.05 at GH¢3.70 while Ghana Commercial Bank inched up GH¢0.02 at GH¢1.50 after losing consecutively two previous trading sessions.

Traded volumes closed the session at 758,199 shares valued at GH¢236,494.21. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) sold the highest at 678,300 shares valued at GH¢88,179.00.

The Change Year to Date also dropped to 10.69 points from 12.68 points on Tuesday.

Market Capitalization closed the session down at GH¢17,925.67 million.
