Ghana stocks in heavy losses

The GSE All-Share Index slumped heavily again on Tuesday at 134.78 points due to price losses by some major equities.

The Index, which opened the week trading dull with similar huge loss at 108.23 points on Monday, therefore plunged from 6,413.78 points to 6,279.00 points on Tuesday.

Of the six price changes recorded, five were negatives and one positive. Ghana Commercial Bank went down for the second time by GH¢0.02 at GHc1.48, Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited (SCB) tumbled GH¢0.20 at GH¢42.70, Aluworks Limited (ALW) dropped GH¢0.05 at GH¢0.29, HFC Bank (Ghana) Limited slid GH¢0.02 at GH¢0.55 and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) fell GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.14.

The only gainer, Benso Oil Palm Plantation (BOPP), inched up GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.75.

Traded volumes closed the session at 480,057 shares valued at GH¢223,033.03. CAL Bank Limited (CAL) sold the highest at 316,300 shares valued at GH¢88,564.00.

The Change Year to Date also dropped to 12.68 points from 15.10 points on Monday.

Market Capitalization closed the session down at GH¢18,023.01 million.
