To enable it implement the programme, the district had acquired land banks for distribution to unemployed youth who are eager to go into agriculture.

Mr Adams Iddisah, District Chief Executive, told an ordinary meeting of the assembly at Mamponteng on Monday that already 100 young people had been selected from some deprived communities to work on a 100 acre land.

Brilliant, but needy pupils and students, he said, would also be supported with scholarships to further their education.

He also spoke of the Assembly’s assistance to the physically challenged and said last year, it gave GH¢1,500 to some of them in tertiary institutions.

Mr Iddisah appealed to the people to contribute their quotas towards the progress and development of the district.

Mr Baffour Asumin Gyekye, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, urged members to always ensure that deliberations at meetings were devoid of partisan politics.

He said they should work with unity of purpose to address the socio-economic challenges facing their communities.

  1. That is a piece of good news for people of kwabre. The beneficiary communities should cooperate with the assembly so as to be able to execute the projects successfully. I also want to appeal to the Honorable Dce to remember the people of Ahwiaa in future projects.
