Ghana stocks rise on Ecobank, GCB gains

Gains in the share prices of Ecobank Ghana (EBG) and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) pushed the benchmark index up by 6.52 points in a dull market on Tuesday.

The GSE All-Share Index rose to 5,629.78 points from 5,623.26 points at the previous close.

The rise in the index brings the year to date gain to 1.03 per cent.

On the broader market, there were two gainers – EBG which gained GH¢0.01 at GH¢3.12 and GCB which went up by GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.79.

Traded volumes went up marginally at 268,598 shares up from 193,735 shares on Monday.

Market capitalisation closed the session up at GH¢15,989.49 compared with GH¢15,983.54 on Monday.
