South Africa commends Ghana Black Stars

The Organising Committee (OC) of South Africa 2010 World Cup has commended the Ghana Black Stars for their performance at the just-ended African Nations Cup tournament in Angola.

In a press statement issued in Johannesburg and copied to ghanabusinessnews.com Danny Jordaan, the CEO said that the OC looked forward to welcoming Ghana to South Africa later this year.

“This is an exciting, young team and this performance gives The Black Stars an excellent base from which to build for the World Cup. I am certain that they will win many fans in South Africa and we look forward to welcoming them and the other four African teams, Algeria, Nigeria, Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire to our country.”

The OC also congratulated Egypt for winning the cup, but regretted that the team will not be in South Africa. The OC congratulated Angola for organizing an excellent competition.

The Black Stars without their key players, due to injury, fielded mostly young and inexperienced players who braved all odds and reached the finals of the competitionm, but lost to a more experienced and tactical reigning champions, Egypt.

    i will to say the national coach should select the right players to represent Ghana at he 2010 world cup finals at south Africa in June. but i still wish them the best of luck.
