Uncertainty over Togo pull out from Angola 2010

There is uncertainty over the decision of the Togolese national team, the Hawks to pull out of the Orange African Nations Cup in Angola following an attack on the team in the northern Angolan enclave of Cabinda in which three members of the team were killed and several others injured.

According to a BBC report monitored by ghanabusinessnews.com, the Togolese authorities have asked the team to pull out of the competition and return home because the players are still “in shock” as a result of the ordeal.

However, the report say two unnamed players of the team have said the team will stay in Angola and play in the tournament.

The attack on the team last Friday as they travelled by road from the Democratic Republic of Congo has not received wide coverage in Angola according to the BBC, and as a result most Angolans are unaware of the incident.
