Indian company EIL coming to Ghana

Ghana is increasingly becoming an investment destination for companies seeking to establish their presence in West Africa.

One of such companies is Indian company, Engineers India Ltd (EIL).

The engineering company which was established in 1965 and has 2,800 engineers on its roll has expertise in the petroleum industry with diverse expertise in offshore structures, platforms, oil and gas processing and refineries.

The Chairman and Managing Director of IEL, AK Purwaha has told the Financial Express in an exclusive interview that the company is looking further for diversification.

He said in November 2009 the company opened an office in China.

“In Africa, EIL is already operating in Algeria with a team of 45 engineers. Now, we’re also looking at venturing into new markets like Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan and Kenya,” he said.

The company which has handled projects for the state-owned India  oil and gas company Oil & Natural Gas Corporation  (ONGC) is also looking to enter the solar power project consultancy business, Mr. Purwaha said.
