Ghana Oil educates retailers on G-Card

The Management of the Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has held a day’s workshop in Kumasi to sensitize the Company’s retailers in Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions on the “GOIL Advantage G-Card.”

The card, in the form of an automated electronic device with security and coded features, allows customers to buy GOIL’s products without using cash.

Mr. Charles Darko, Fuels Marketing Manager of the Company, said this was part of measures to discourage the carrying of huge sums of money.

It is also designed to ensure that most of the company’s business transactions were done via technology for the mutual benefit of both the customers and the company.

Mr. Darko said there were 40 accredited GOIL fuel stations across the country where customers could use the card to buy products including fuel and lubricants.

He said plans were underway to increase the accredited stations to 80 by end of this month and urged retailers and customers to strive to become abreast of the features and the use of the card.
