Kenya inflation slows to 17.8%

Inflation in Kenya, East Africa’s largest economy, slowed to 17.8 percent last month as food prices declined, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics said.

The inflation rate was 19.5 percent in May, Anthony Kilele, director of the state-run agency, said today in a phone interview from Nairobi.
