The Buduburam Camp located in the Central region was a hot spot last Saturday as residents of the camp were treated to various sizzling renditions when two of Ghana’s music stars – Blakk Rasta and Obour – stormed the camp to stage some performances.

This formed part of the stars’ planned musical concert to entertain the residents and further preach peace. The residents came out in their numbers and performance after performance, they greeted the artistes with very loud cheers, applause and screams and shrill whistling, in expression of joy and excitement.

The excitement grew bigger when the singers performed their hit songs that the fans were familiar with. These included Blakk Rasta’s ‘Barak Obama’ and Obuor’s ‘President Obour’ hit songs.

Blakk Rasta appeared on stage with his Herbalist Band around 10:45pm. With his “amore fire” signature doing some magic for him, he unleashed enthralling acts amid some dance steps common with Reggae singers. This prepared the grounds for Obour, who ended the night with glitz.

Their acts were preceded by some equally good performance from some Liberian upcoming artistes, the sensational Asaseaban, Messiah, Stone Boy and the Vibration Kings among other artistes.

Speaking to Beatwaves after his performance, Blakk Rasta emphasized that the show was put together to entertain residents and encourage them to be one another’s keeper.

“We are here to give the people hope,” he stated. On January 1, 2009 Blakk Rasta would be the main performer at Liberia’s first ever biggest peace concert after the civil war in Liberia.

This would be emceed by Nollywood stars, Ramsey Nouah and Segun Arinze. “I am glad to be invited as a peace ambassador for this show,” Blakk told Beatwaves.

One of the promoters of Saturday’s show, Emmanuel Azubuike revealed that the show was also to create a platform for upcoming artistes at the camp to excel.
