Internet users in Ghana reach 14.11% of population in 2011 – ITU

There is growing Internet use around the, but the percentage of users in developing countries looks slow.

In 2008 individuals using the Internet in Ghana were only 4.27 percent of the entire population, according to data from the International Telecom Union, the UN agency for ICT.

In three years by 2011, individuals using the Internet in Ghana increased to 14.11 percent of the population estimated around 24 million.

In Nigeria in 2008 15.86 percent of individuals among the country’s estimated population used the Internet and in 2011 28.43 percent use the Internet in a population estimated around 180 million, the ITU data shows.
