English side Fulham has announced the capture of Black Stars midfielder Derek Boateng on a one-year deal with an option for a further year

According to the club’s official website, the deal was finalized on Wednesday following the confirmation of the international clearance of the 30-year midfielder.

The deal end months of speculation about the future of Boateng, who has not tasted club action for over half-a-year after frosty relationship with his previous club, Dnipro in Ukraine.

“I’m very happy that I have signed and I want to thank the Chairman, the Manager and the Board at Fulham Football Club. I have been working hard to come here and I will do my best for the club.

“It has been a long road for me but now I am here. I’m so happy and I cannot wait to start and give everything I have,” Boateng told the club’s website.

Boateng started his professional career at Kalamata FC in Greece in 1999 before moving to Panathinaikos in 2001.

Prior to moving to the Ukraine, Boateng made more than 70 appearances in just over two seasons at Spanish side Getafe and has represented his country on 46 occasions.

He also had spells with Beitar Jerusalem (Israel), AIK Solna (Sweden) and FC Koln (Germany).
