Goldman Sachs picks five students from Ghana’s Ashesi University for internship in London

US investment bank Goldman Sachs has selected five students from Ghana’s Ashesi University College for its 2012 Spring Internship programme in London.

The programme is designed to allow excellent undergraduate students gain experience in working at the highest levels of the global securities and investment management industry.

The students, who are the only participants from Ghana, are “Naa Ayeleysa Quaynor-Mettle, Kwadwo Owusu-Adjei, Ahmed Edusei, George Sognon and Nana Esi Asiedu,” announced Ashesi on its website January 30, 2012.

“The number of students this year is the highest number Goldman Sachs has selected from Ashesi yet, and brings the number of Ashesi students to have had this opportunity to twenty,” said the university.

The University adds “The five students, together with other bright students from top universities around the world, will be flown to London later this year to spend two weeks gaining insight into working in different divisions at Goldman Sachs.”

This will be the seventh year in a row that the firm is selecting students from Ashesi to join its team in London.
