AFCON 2013: Ghana beats Mali to grab first win

After drawing 2-2 with DR Congo in their first game, the Ghana Black Stars today beat Mali 1-0, grabbing their first win at the ongoing AFCON 2013.

Ghana’s goal came through a penalty kick by Espanyol midfielder Mubarak Wakaso after Agyemang Badu was fouled in the Malian box during the first half of the game played at the Port Elizabeth Stadium.

Ghana now leads Group B with four points as the team awaits the game between DR Congo and Niger.

Ghana plays Niger in the final group game.
