Goal-line technology use approved

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) on July 7, 2012 voted and approved the use of the much talked about goal-line technology for football matches.

The technology is set to be used at this year’s Club World Cup and, if successful, at the 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 World Cup.

According to the FIFA, two systems – Hawk-Eye and GoalRef – have been approved after passing a series of scientific tests.
