Ghana FA sets election date for two key vacant positions

The Ghana Football Association has set September 20, 2012 as the date to elect two persons to fill the vacant posts of the Premier League clubs’ representative on the Executive Committee and the Vice President.

The vacancies were as a result of the deaths of Hon. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah and Jordan Anagblah, Executive Committee member and Vice-President respectively.

In a statement today September 11, 2012, the FA said “The elections of Premier League Clubs’ representative on the GFA Executive Committee and the Vice-President of the Association to fill the vacancies…comes-off on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the GFA Conference room at 10:00 am for the Premier League Clubs and 3:00 pm. for the Vice-President.”

The FA said Premier League Clubs officials who are interested to contest for the position should pick nomination forms at the GFA Secretariat.

Nominations open at 9:00 am on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 and close at 3:00 pm Thursday September 13, 2012, it said.

The statement indicated that each club shall be represented at the election by one representative, whose name shall be submitted to the FA’s General Secretary by the Chief Executive Officer on the Club’s letter head not later than Friday, September 14, 2012.
