The two-day event on the theme “Matching Agricultural Trade and Investment Opportunities in Africa” will bring together over 300 of Africa’s leading agricultural players, and over 20 seasoned speakers, all with the common goal and vision to transform Africa’s agricultural sector.

The Agrique Africa Investment Summit is under the auspices of Welcome2Africa, headquartered in the UK, an organisation that seeks to promote investment and trade in Africa, with a current focus on Agriculture.

Ms Bamidele Seun Owoola, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Welcome2Africa, speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, said the key theme of the Agrique Africa Investment Summit 2015, offers an invaluable opportunity for businesses with agricultural products or services to meet with agribusinesses, farmer associations, and agricultural leaders from across Africa.

She said it would also provide an excellent opportunity for investors to view outstanding agricultural investment opportunities on the continent.

She said the summit would bring together 16 plus agricultural investment opportunity presentations from across Africa, 50 plus investors with specific interests in African agriculture, 100 plus agribusinesses from across Africa and over 100 stakeholders of Africa’s agricultural sector.

She said some of the principal speakers at the summit would include Mr Fiifi Kwetey, Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr Sebastian McKiniay, Head of AECF Connect Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund, Madam Lucy Muchaki, CEO of Pan Africa Agribusiness & Agro-Industry Consortium and Mr Rahul Gopnath, the Head of Africa, Ecom Trading.

“As part of our strategy we look to increase awareness on the investment opportunities that exist in Africa’s agricultural sector,” Ms Owoola said.

“Our event provides a platform for those with a keen investment or business interest in Africa’s Agricultural sector to meet with agribusinesses from across Africa. With the collaboration of our speakers the event also provides the opportunity to gain insights to the possibilities within Africa’s Agricultural sector.

Factoring in the rapid growth of the Africa’s agricultural industry, Ms Owoola said interested participants could visit their website www.agriqueafrica.com or email [email protected] for further information.
