Accra Bourse Index rises on Ecobank Ghana, GOIL gains

The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, rose 1.43 points to 1,024.23 points from 1,022.80 points on Monday with a year-to-date return of 5.70 per cent.

The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also fell by 3.34 points to 885.05 points from 881.71 points with a year-to-date change of 2.54 per cent.

There were two price changes equally shared between the gainers and the losers.

Ecobank Ghana Limited was up GH¢0.05 to GH¢3.02 and Ghana Oil Company gained GH¢0.02 to GH¢0.49.

The stocks on the losing side were UT Bank down GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.31 and Fan Milk Limited fell GH¢0.07 to GH¢2.00.

Market Capitalization rose to close the session at GH¢54,856.18 million.

Shares traded are 538,792, valued at GH¢242,748.
