UNESCO to launch pictorial book on Ghana’s rich cultural heritage

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) will today May 28, 2012 launch a captivating 108-page full-colour pictorial book showcasing the Ghana’s rich cultural and heritage as well history.

The publication titled “A Panorama of Ghana’s Heritage” will be launched in Accra.

The publication, according to the UN agency offers a fascinating insight into the amazing and rich diversity of Ghana’s cultural and natural treasures.

“The treasures are icons manifested through vivid images of UNESCO World heritage sites and national heritage sites, monumental and cultural expressions, artefacts and nature, technology and enterprise, communication and creativity,” UNESCO said in a statement copied to ghanabusinessnews.com.

The book also traces an exciting “pictographic itinerary” through all the ten regions of the country as UNESCO says they convey the powerful message of cultural diversity, dialogue and development in Ghana.

The initiative was by the UNESCO and Ministry of Tourism with support from the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture and the Spanish Embassy in Ghana.
