Two new districts to be created for Jirapa, Nandom soon

Dr Francis Dakurah Bawaana, the Member of Parliament for Jirapa, has told his constituents that very soon the government would create a new district from the Jirapa District and it would be known as Jirapa East District.

Similarly, a new district would be formed out of the Lawra District for Nandom.

Dr. Bawaana said this at the maiden celebration of the “Bong-Ngo” festival by the chiefs and people of the Jirapa Traditional Area at Jirapa.

Dr. Bawana advised his people to co-exist peacefully with other people, saying that would help promote the good name of the area.

It would also encourage investors to invest in some economic areas to help improve the living conditions of the people.

Dr. Bawana was full of praise for to the Nkoranzahene, Nana Okatakyie Agyemang Kodom, for coming with 55 subjects to grace the festival, saying such relationship should be emulated as it has the potential to unify the country.

He said despite the trying times and the political turmoil, Ghana would ever remain united because “each of us is a neighbour’s keeper”.

Dr. Bawana therefore advised people in the district to cherish unity, peace, understanding, brotherhood, love and care which, he said were vital ingredients for development.

He said the government had brought a lot of development projects to the district within a shor time and that more development projects would be provided in the approaching years.

It is very interesting to note that Nandom will be made a district, but the problem is that when is that happening.
