Rocky Dawuni nominated in two categories at International Reggae and World Music Awards

Ghana’s reggae maestro, Rocky Dawuni has been nominated in two categories at the 30th edition of the International Reggae and World Music Awards to be held in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. The event will be held on May 28, 2011, an email from Offeibea Dodoo, his Media/Sponsor Coordinator to ghanabusinessnews.com has said.

He has been nominated for the Best Album/CD and the Best African Entertainer categories.

His latest album, ‘Music for the Rebel Soul’ is nominated in the Best Album/CD category together with, ‘Holy Yuh’ by Gypian, ‘Distant Relatives’ by Nas and Damian Marley, ‘Before the Dawn’ by Buju Banton, ‘Made in Jamaica’ by Bob Sinclair, Sly and Robbie.

In the Best African Entertainer category he stands shoulder to shoulder with King Sunny Ade of Nigeria, K’Naan of Somalia, 2Face Idibia of Nigeria and Angelique Kidjo of Benin.

Winners in all the categories would be selected by votes from music fans around the world. Fans can vote by visiting this site.
