Philippe Ayivor elected President, American Chamber of Commerce – Ghana

Mr. Philippe Ayivor, of Coca-Cola has been elected the new President of the American Chamber of Commerce-Ghana.

Mr. Ayivor, who is the Public Affairs and Communications Director of the Coca-Cola Company’s Equatorial Franchise and the Coca-Cola Foundation will be serving a two-year term in office. He is taking over from Mrs. Mona Boyd.

Commenting, he told ghanabusinessnews.com on the phone that the election is good for Coca-Cola and for Ghana.  “I would be able to bring the best practices and values that we have here at Coca-Cola as an American company to reflect on the Chamber in Ghana.”

Mr. Ayivor has been working with the Coca-Cola Company for the past 27 years in the US and Africa in positions of increasing responsibility including Group Information Systems Director for Africa & the Middle East and Franchise Director/General Manager for the Mid-Africa and Equatorial Africa franchises.

Other officials that were elected are Mr. Rob Scott, Country Manager of Anadarko Petroleum and Mr. Joe Mensah, General Manager of IBM – these two join the Board as new members.

Mr. Nick Kyei Baffour, Managing Partner of Smice International was re-elected as Vice-President; Dr. Chris Anderson, External Affairs Director of Newmont Ghana Ltd and Mona Boyd, CEO of Avis Ghana were re-elected as board members, the Chamber said in a press release.
